Tahsin Dag - packaging expert for RTL - Life - people, moments, stories

Packaging expert Tahsin Dag uncovered the tricks of colorful Christmas packaging and referred to the problematic disposal and return of the packaging. Special prints and 3D effects in the design not only make the packaging more expensive for consumers, but also more harmful to the environment. At the same time, the product content is reduced due to the special shape of the packaging.

A jury of experts under the patronage of NRW Economics Minister Neubaur selects model companies in NRW. PAPACKS is a prizewinner in the corporate competition "NRW Economy in Transition". This makes PAPACKS one of 9 outstanding companies that symbolize the structural change in the federal state towards a future-oriented business location in an exemplary way.

The consumer industry is under pressure: consumers want less plastic and the state is threatening a plastic tax. Tahsin Dag likes to compare himself to Elon Musk, he even calls his factory "Gigafactory". Except that he makes yoghurt pots there and not electric cars. The 39-year-old is burning with ambition and wants to change an established industry with his company Papacks: the packaging and food industry.

PAPACKS® School of Sustainability - Spreading sustainability - around the world

In cooperation with the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), it was possible for a total of 16 entrepreneurs to take part in the School of Sustainability & Green Innovations for the first time. These included entrepreneurs and politicians from Jordan who traveled more than 4.000 kilometers to take part in the sustainability workshop.


PAPACKS® developed fiber cast transport packaging together with the cosmetics giant COTY® and the premium bottle manufacturer HEINZ‐GLAS, which exceeded the expectations of the partners/customers. Perfectly protected premium bottles, but packaged without plastic, sustainable, recyclable and compostable: The traditional company HEINZ-GLAS is taking the next step towards a more environmentally friendly future. The transport of the exclusive glass products is even safer and plastic can be completely dispensed with.
