PAPACKS Headquarters, Köln-Ossendorf
Köln-Ossendorf · Starting immediately · Salary depending on experience
PAPACKS produces fiber-based packaging from paper, wood and industrial hemp fibers. Our customers are industrial and trading companies across Europe; production takes place in Arnstadt and Appingedam.
You work as the right hand of our CMO. Together, you develop how our products come to market – and you take on topics from that work and see them through. The team is small: our CMO, a social media manager, the inside sales team and you. Short paths, quick decisions. The idea in the morning, live in the afternoon.
You learn a lot here because you are involved in everything: product, copy, campaign, numbers, customer.
Your tasks
Together with the CMO
- Develop campaigns and marketing strategies: how do we bring a product to market, and through which channels do we sell it?
- Contribute ideas for new products – from the idea to everything needed to sell them
- Coordinate appointments and processes with customers, partners and service providers
- Evaluate results and derive the next steps from them
Product & content
- Product copy, data sheets and brochures
- Company brochure and information material for our sales partners
- Presentations and documents for sales and customer meetings
- You understand our products and translate them into arguments that resonate with customers
Digital
- Website: content, structure, further development
- SEO: build visibility and clean up whatever is not clean yet
- Set up and optimize sales funnels – from first contact to inquiry
- CRM: maintain data, map processes, set up automations
- Analytics: understand what works and optimize accordingly
- Google Ads and Analytics
- Our online shop (few products, manageable effort)
Social media
- You develop concepts and copy for LinkedIn and Instagram
- You work out the photo and video production together with our social media manager
Customers & partners
- You talk to prospects who have contacted us: what do they need, what matters to them? This is where you learn the most about our market
- Arrange and prepare appointments – you usually visit customers together with the CMO
- Contact with our sales partners
Sales
- Analyze markets and target groups for our products
- Create and improve documents and processes for the sales process – so that everything runs smoothly from lead to delivery
- Bring together in the CRM what we know about customers, so that marketing and sales can turn it into a shared strategy
How we work
AI is part of our everyday work – for research, copy, images, analyses and automations. We show you how to use it properly: open in how you apply it, but with the clear rule that everything is checked before it goes out. That is exactly what matters to us – using tools effectively and checking the results.
We work with Canva, Google Workspace and MacBooks. Adobe Creative Suite is a plus, but not a must.
What you bring
- At least 2 years of professional experience in marketing – in a company, an agency or both
- Vocational training or a degree in marketing, communications, business administration or a comparable field
- You have used Google Ads and Analytics yourself, not just heard of them
- Excellent writing in German: you explain complex things simply and clearly
- Genuine interest in our products: how they are made, what they are made of and what happens to them at the end of their life cycle. We will teach you about materials and packaging law
- You enjoy talking on the phone, including with people you do not know yet
- Coordination skills: aligning schedules, approaching people, holding things together
- Independent way of working: you are given topics and see them through on your own
- Willingness to travel occasionally to customers, trade shows or events – usually together with the CMO
A plus: English (our customers are international – you can build on it with us), experience with CMS and CRM.
Less than two years of experience, but you can show what you are capable of? Apply anyway. What you have built is what counts.
What we offer
- Permanent, full-time, flextime, 28 days of vacation
- Direct line to the CMO: you work at his side and see how decisions are made
- Breadth instead of pigeonholing: product marketing, performance, content and sales in one job
- Modern tools and the freedom to try new things
- Prospects: we are growing. This position can develop into a role with your own responsibility for marketing or sales, depending on where your interests lie. We cannot guarantee that, but we mean it
- Subsidy for gym membership and public transit pass, Corporate Benefits, company events
- Köln-Ossendorf: bus stop at the door, KVB within 5–10 minutes, parking within 3–5 minutes
Place of work: mostly on site – as the right hand, you should be within reach. Working from home for a day now and then is no problem; permanent remote work does not fit the role.
Application
No cover letter needed – your résumé and two or three sentences are enough. Feel free to include work samples (copy, graphics, posts, campaigns). Tell us when you can start. We usually get back to you within three business days.

PAPACKS produces fiber-based packaging from paper, wood and industrial hemp fibers. Our customers are industrial and trading companies across Europe.
Our production is in Arnstadt: this is where the molded parts we develop for our customers are made. We are expanding the design engineering team – permanent, full-time, as soon as possible.
Your designs do not end up in a drawer. What you draw becomes a tool a few meters away and then runs on our machines. The path from idea to finished molded part is short here – and you accompany it from start to finish.
Your tasks
Design engineering
- Design and development of components and tools
- 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks
- Standard-compliant technical drawings and CAD documentation
- Contributing to the development of new packaging solutions for customer inquiries
3D printing
- Managing and further developing our 3D printing projects
- Designing components for 3D printing, building and testing functional prototypes
- You help decide where printing reaches the goal faster than the conventional route
Coordination
- Technical coordination with production, tool making and project management
- Consider feasibility and manufacturability early instead of fixing them later
- Feeding feedback from manufacturing back into design
You work at the Arnstadt site and coordinate with colleagues in Cologne and Appingedam.

- Experience in designing components and tools
- Confident handling of standard-compliant technical drawings
- Experience in 3D printing – designing components for printing, working with slicer software and printers

What we offer
- Permanent full-time contract, flextime and 28 days of vacation
- Personal responsibility: your projects, your decisions, short paths to management
- Short paths: tool making and production at the same site — you see what becomes of your work

- Thorough onboarding in molded fiber and our products
- Modern equipment and a hands-on team
