Dieline Award 2026
PAPACKS Fiber Box Wins in Two Categories
Cologne, May 6, 2026 PAPACKS received two awards at the Dieline Awards 2026. The Fiber Box, a fiber-based transport packaging for seafood under refrigerated logistics, won first place in the „Plastic Free“ category and third place in the „Food“ category. The first user of the solution in operational deployment is Transgourmet Seafood.

Fish and seafood place special demands on packaging in refrigerated transport: it must be mechanically stable, food-contact compliant, and integrable into existing logistics chains.
PAPACKS produces the Fiber Box using a special molded fiber process at its BRCGS and ISO 9001 certified facility in Arnstadt. Food contact compliance has been confirmed by the testing institute Eurofins.
The Fiber Box is designed for a cold chain between 0 and 2°C. Its stackable design reduces the storage volume of empty boxes by approximately 66 percent.
At the end of its use, the packaging is disposed of via the waste paper stream (PAP 21). In the EU tariff system for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR), it falls into the currently lowest tariff category.

„Fiber-based packaging in cold chain logistics was long considered a non-scalable solution. That an application in the seafood sector—one of the most demanding food segments—is now receiving international acclaim shows:
The technical maturity is there. The next task is to make such solutions available at the scale the food industry needs them today.“, says Tahsin Dag, CEO and founder of PAPACKS.

The Dieline Awards have been presented annually for over a decade and are considered one of the most internationally recognized awards for packaging design in the packaging industry. The „Plastic Free“ category was introduced in 2019 and is awarded in cooperation with the A Plastic Planet initiative. The 2026 award winners will be presented at Luxe Pack New York.
