Four WorldStar Awards for the Fiber Box
At the WorldStar Packaging Award 2026, PAPACKS won four awards with the Fiber Box: the Special Award “Packaging That Saves Food” and the categories “Food,” “Packaging Materials and Components” and “Transit.”

Four awards in one evening
On May 8, 2026, the World Packaging Organisation (WPO) presented the WorldStar Packaging Awards at interpack in Düsseldorf. That evening, PAPACKS received four awards for the Fiber Box.
The WPO presents the WorldStar every year. A jury of 48 international expert judges decided on the 2026 entries; more than 481 packages had been submitted.
The four awards for the Fiber Box in detail:
- Special Award “Packaging That Saves Food”
- “Food” category
- “Packaging Materials and Components” category
- “Transit” category
“Refrigerated seafood transport is one of the most technically demanding applications in food logistics. International recognition for the Fiber Box in this field confirms the technical maturity of this solution. For us, scaling does not mean supplying everything from one plant — but making this technology available where it is needed. Our licensing program makes exactly that possible: local production, worldwide.”
In use in fresh fish logistics
After the pilot test, Transgourmet Seafood uses the Fiber Box in daily operation — in the refrigerated fresh fish chain.
The Fiber Box is a transport box for fish and seafood in the cold chain — made of molded fiber, closed with lid and adhesive tape, disposed of via waste paper collection.
The solution is open to other users: Medium and Large are in stock.

About PAPACKS
Since 2013, PAPACKS has been developing fiber-based packaging, manufactured in its own plants — with the PAPACKS Headquarters and the R&D Innovation Hub in Cologne and three plants in Arnstadt and Appingedam. Virgin paper fiber and industrial hemp are turned into product packaging, trays and protective packaging, food packaging and the Fiber Box. More than 120 IP rights protect technology, design, formulation and brand; production in Arnstadt is BRCGS certified.
