Molded fiber cosmetic and personal care packaging Packaging designed around your product and your brand

Set inserts, refill caps, razor handles, pet care containers, tubes and blisters for OTC products — logo embossed in the tool, abrasion protection for lacquered primary packaging on request, documentation per molded part.

Designed to your specifications, tested on the prototype with your product — design, tool and series production from a single source.

Why molded fiber

Packaging people want to touch

We develop every molded part together with you, based on your requirements: unboxing as a brand moment, your products protected until they are unpacked, one material across your entire range.

Unboxing

Feels like your brand

The fiber surface is warm, matte and tactile; logo and texture are molded in, and you choose the color — with food coloring directly in the fiber pulp. The moment your customers open the box belongs to your brand.

Protection

Arrives as packed

The compartments follow the contour of your product, as tight or as loose as your product needs — on request with an anti-abrasion coating for lacquered surfaces; we test the effect on the prototype with your product.

Range

One material, from set to refill

Gift set, refill caps, razor handle or container: one material language across your entire range, developed around your product. We supply the documentation for your approval — material data and, for food contact, the declaration of conformity for exactly your molded part.

We define surface, wall thickness and coating with you — based on your product, your primary packaging and your line. We design the shape to your specifications, test it on the prototype with your product and only then build the production tool. You will find the documents for your supplier approval in the download area.

Examples

Every product gets its own shape

Your molded part is created the same way as these examples — you specify dimensions, compartments and surface; we carry existing dimensions and outer packaging over into the design (Switch packaging).

Filling

Trays for filling

Every bottle stands upright in its own compartment, with the neck clear for filling. We design the compartments from the CAD model of your bottle.

Molded fiber cosmetic and personal care packaging consists of molded set inserts, trays, refill caps, containers, tubes and blisters made of virgin fiber — and, with the razor handle, the product itself. PAPACKS develops them around your product and your primary packaging and manufactures them in its own plants; we define surface, embossing and coating with you for each application. We clarify in the consultation what is possible for your product — dimensions, coating and material data are later listed in the data sheet for your molded part.

Frequently asked questions

What customers ask before the first sample

The prototype test shows this: we supply prototypes with the intended coating, and you test stability and compatibility with your formulation. We specify the inner coating according to your contents and test it on the prototype. For the safety assessment of your cosmetic product, we supply material composition and raw material documentation; you confirm suitability for your product in your approval.

That depends on your product category and the documentation for your molded part. For food contact, yes — for example food supplements in a tube or blister — within the scope of the declaration of conformity according to Regulation (EC) 1935/2004 for your molded part. It states the type of food, temperature and contact time and is based on tests on the molded part as delivered, with coating. We define additional tests on the finished product together, through an accredited laboratory on request; you confirm suitability for your packaged product in your approval. For human and veterinary medicinal products, the primary packaging material is part of your marketing authorization dossier: as the marketing authorization holder, you demonstrate suitability and pharmacopoeia testing; for this, we supply material data, raw material documentation and batch documentation. We do not make a blanket commitment to suitability as packaging material for medicinal products.

On request, the insert gets an anti-abrasion coating for lacquered bottles, jars and tubes. We test the effect on the prototype with your bottle — in a test to your specification.

Yes, directly in the tool: logo, lettering and texture are formed in the same cycle as the molded part. Standard is white or natural white; on request, we dye the fiber in your color — with food coloring directly in the fiber pulp. We define the position and depth of the embossing with you on the CAD model.

With prototypes in quantity for your line: you test loading, filling, sealing or closing and packing before you approve the production tool. Tell us the manufacturer, type and cycle rate of your equipment; we design the prototypes for it. For what matters with molded parts for automated lines, see Automated Line & Filling.

First, you receive sample parts from our development, matched to your project. Your own prototype is created in step 3, around 4 weeks after the kickoff — on request in the quantity for a trial on your filling and packaging line. From your approval, tool making, pre-production run and start of production take around 12 weeks. The times are planning estimates; binding dates are set out in your detailed plan.

We develop your own molded parts from 100,000 units per year; the volume counts per molded part. Your quote states the tool price; it depends on shape, requirements, number of tool sets and volume. How we share your tooling costs depends on annual volume and term — in Wet Molding, up to full coverage; the terms and the five-year warranty on tools from our tool shop are set out in your quote. The unit price is determined by fiber quantity, wall thickness, coating, embossing and annual volume.

The assessment of your molded part specifies the disposal route: for packaging, we have recyclability assessed product-specifically by cyclos-HTP — as delivered, with coating, according to the ZSVR minimum standard; for products such as the razor handle, the data sheet provides the disposal information. We commission the report for your item on your request; the labeling on your packaging is based on it.
