Environment (Environmental)
PAPACKS strives to play a pioneering role in the development of packaging solutions made from renewable raw materials.
Climate protection and energy efficiency: PAPACKS uses renewable energy sources such as solar panels to reduce the need for external electricity and relies on green electricity with biogas blending. Our production processes are optimized to minimize CO₂ emissions and maximize energy efficiency. By using raw materials such as industrial hemp and paludicultures from bogs, we actively contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases and promote the preservation of natural carbon sinks.
Water management and clean water: Our state-of-the-art water recovery systems and water separators significantly reduce fresh water consumption and allow water to be reused in production. This helps to conserve water resources and supports the goals for clean water and sustainable water use.
Circular economy and responsible consumption: PAPACKS promotes the circular economy by developing packaging that is fully recyclable. We rely on renewable raw materials such as industrial hemp and FSC-certified cellulose, which minimize the carbon footprint while reducing waste in production. Our processes are designed to make the material flow as efficient as possible to avoid unnecessary transportation and storage.
Social (Social)
At PAPACKS, we recognize that sustainable success can only be achieved through a commitment to social responsibility. We not only create jobs, but also offer an inclusive, safe and supportive environment for our employees and partners.
High-quality education: We invest in the continuous training of our employees, particularly in the area of sustainability. Our training programs ensure that our employees are aware of and can apply the latest developments and best practices in the sustainable packaging industry. In this way, we not only promote the personal growth of our teams, but also the innovative strength of our company.
Gender equality: PAPACKS fosters a work environment where all genders have equal opportunities to thrive and succeed. Our culture of inclusion and equality allows everyone to develop and grow freely, regardless of gender or background. We strive to break down barriers and promote diversity in our workforce.
Decent work and economic growth: As an innovative company in the sustainable packaging industry, we create sustainable jobs and ensure that fair working conditions prevail. PAPACKS implements the highest safety standards in the workplace to prevent accidents and occupational illnesses. Our employees can fully develop their talents in a safe, fair and supportive working environment, while we contribute to economic growth.
Corporate governance
Integrity and transparency are core values at PAPACKS and we set high standards for our corporate governance. Our governance principles ensure that sustainability is integrated into all areas of our business.
Partnerships to achieve the goals: Innovation is the driver of our actions. Through our PAPACKS Molded Fiber License and close cooperation with partners such as Ukrainian Hemp and the European Moulded Pulp Producers Association, we promote the spread of sustainable packaging solutions worldwide. These partnerships enable us to strengthen a sustainable industrial infrastructure and promote the transfer of knowledge within the industry.
Compliance and ethical behavior: PAPACKS ensures that all business practices meet the highest ethical standards. Our supply chains are subject to strict requirements in terms of environmental and social responsibility. We work closely with our suppliers to ensure that sustainable practices are adhered to along the entire value chain. In this way, we not only promote responsible corporate behavior, but also continuous improvement throughout the industry.

Our commitment to sustainability
The advantages of virgin fibers and industrial hemp in our production chain
Our decision to use only virgin fibers is not only a question of quality and food safety, but also a question of sustainability. The virgin fibers we use come from FSC-certified forests. This means that for every tree that is felled for the production of our packaging, a new tree is planted. In this way, we contribute to the preservation of forests and the reduction of CO₂ emissions.
Furthermore, the process of virgin fiber production is generally more energy-efficient and water-saving than the processing of waste paper. This is because recycling waste paper requires an intensive process to remove the ink and bleach the paper, which consumes more energy and water.
We recognize that recycling is an important aspect of sustainability and we are constantly looking at new technologies and methods to improve our products and processes.
Another key advantage of our decision to use virgin fibres is that it gives us the opportunity to use more environmentally friendly and CO₂-optimized virgin fibre raw materials such as industrial hemp. Industrial hemp is a sustainable and renewable resource that requires less water and pesticides than conventional raw materials and helps to reduce the carbon footprint. This contributes significantly to a sustainable production chain.
In addition, we are proud to work with Ukrainian Hemp, our partner for the supply of industrial hemp for fiber production. This partnership allows us to operate independently from the traditional pulp and virgin fiber raw material market and to use shorter supply routes. This not only reduces our carbon footprint, but also supports local economies and promotes sustainable agricultural practices.
